(And it was mentioned during the conference, I believe, that he had been involved in the publishing of the original.) So what was the deal with that odd shoutout? I asked a Sony PR rep, who told me it was shown simply because SCEA president/CEO Shawn Layden (who was presenting at the time) likes Vib-Ribbon a lot. One time, a mention of the adorable, abstract NanaOn-Sha game was used to transition to a Mortal Kombat X trailer, if you can believe it. Monday night, during Sony’s E3 presentation, the subject of 1999 rhythm game Vib-Ribbon came up twice, seemingly randomly – accompanied by custom graphics on the stage projection.
